IN BURANO – ON BOAT WITH LOCAL FISHERMEN

Venice Car Service, in collaboration with its partners, proposes the A DAY WITH FISHERMEN IN THE ISLAND OF BURANO (VENICE).

From our meeting point we will take the public water bus or a privat water taxi to reach Burano Island. Our Tour will start here, where some fishermen of the local Fishermen’s Cooperative San Marco will be waiting to take us visiting the various Fish Cultures inside the Venetian Lagoon.
A 2 hours boat tour in which you will discover how beautiful the Lagoon is, with his patient fishermen, it’s hidden places, it’s colours.. we will also have a break in Torcello Island to visit the wonderful Church.
During Spring and Autumn, the period when the local Crabs moult, we will have the chance to see also the Art of breeding this incredible creatures and minutely selecting the wright ones who will become Moeche. Only few fishermen possess the knowledge to be Moecari (Moeche breeders), since it is a very difficult and hard job.

We will stop for lunch together with the fishermen and in the afternoon, before returning to Venice, you will have some time for a nice promenade in Burano.
