I will be able to take you right in the middle of the nature and right in the heart of the national parl of the dolomites, famous chain of mountains situated in the northen part of Italy to se Cortina d’Ampezzo the pearl of the dolomites. Now the Dolomites are part of the U.N.E.S.C.O, and the landscape is really amazing. The name of the domomites come from Deodat Guy Silvain Trancrede Gratet de Dolomieu (dolomieu june 23rd 1750 – Chateauneuf november 26th 1801) he was a french geologist,and he discover the “dolomia” rocks. You will enjoy the marvellous riflections of the sunshine into the rocks, this colours goes from the light yellow of the sunrise to violet and blue during the sunset. Our trip will drive us to discover the birth place of Titian Vecelio in Pieve di Cadore, where he was born in 1480 and he lived here untill 1485, he died in Venice plague disease in agoust 27th 1576, a great painter that brought in Venice and not only a new style and colour. The peaks of the dolomites and the forests will accompany us to Cortina d’ Ampezzo famous skiing resort where they held the olympic games on the 1956. Nowadays it’s a famous holiday resort for winter and summer lovers, you will be able to find a bit for each taste nordic walking, horse ridings, paragliding downhill ski, cross-country ski….. We will have a nice break in the heart of Cortina to have some lunch and to take some pictures. Our tour will take us to see the mountains where Silvester Stallone done the movie Cliffhanger in the ’90. We will admire some alpine lakes and we will stop in Misurina for a little walk. We will continue to reach the “tre cime di lavaredo” at 6000 feet high. we will drive to go to Auronzo and then longarone to see from the distance the Vajont dam, that fall down in the 1963 and killed a lot of people. From here we wil continue to go back to your hotel.
