HIDDEN VINEYARDS AND CELLARS OF VENICE LAGOON

Venice Car Service, in collaboration with its partners, proposes the TOUR OF THE HIDDEN VINEYARDS AND CELLARS OF VENICE LAGOON.

An extraordinary trip to the Venice Laguna to discover the vineyards that nowadays are still cultivated and treated with extreme care, and that give very particular wines of unique taste and inkling. An “out of the common routes” trip, for those who wish to discover “another Venice, its heart”.

A boat itinerary that winds between the various Venetian Islands in search of antique flavors and hidden producers that carry on one of the oldest trades in a place so unusual and magical.

We will start in S.Erasmo, which we will reach by water bus, the hidden and still unknown Island of the kitchen gardens, where local farmers still cultivate their land, a green heart in the centre of Venice Lagoon.

Here we will have the pleasure to meet a local farmer who will introduce us to his experienced wisdom by narrating about his life, his history, his job and about the precious and different growings he takes care of.

In particular, we will explore its production of wine, that this unique environment which is the Lagoon makes it more difficult than anywhere else, therefore very rare and precious.

We will then proceed by privat water taxi to Mazzorbo and Burano. Immersed in the tranquility of the Northern Lagoon, these Islands are filled with simple colored houses alternated with vegetable gardens and vines. Here there’s a beautiful, recently restored estate and a six-room hostel, where the Dorona, a local Venetian grape variety from the 15th century has been replanted. Besides the hostel, this estate also hosts a restaurant managed by a Michelin-star winning chef, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch and/or an interesting wine tasting. For those who wish, little promenade in Burano before returning to Venice by waterbus. Arrival back in Venice around 5pm.

ALTERNATIVE:

For a more exclusive tour, it is also possible to do it all by private water taxi, avoiding public means. This will allow us to add a 3^rd visit: we will start by visiting the Vineyards and the production  of S.Michele Island ( the famous cemetery near Murano), a unique discover, to then proceed with the above program. Return from Burano with water bus or water taxi.
